Runway 5K on the Flightline
Join us for the MWR Runway 5K on February 14 starting at 8 AM. The event will take place on the NAS Key West flightline! Registration is at 7 AM at the Air Ops Terminal on Boca Chica Field.
Beat the Sweeper: the tarmac will need to be swept for FOD following the race. The sweeper will start at 8:45 AM and make its way toward the finish line. Don't get swept up with the trash - Beat the Sweeper!

THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD ON THE AIRFIELD. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE RULES AT ALL TIMES:
- NO photography on the flightline or of aircraft. MWR has preapproval to photograph GROUP photos from the Public Affairs Officer and the photos will be posted on social media.
- Please remove small items such as jewelry, items in pockets or excessive gear.
- Please notify staff if anything is lost no matter how small the item. This can cause serious damage to the aircraft.
- If something is lost, no matter the value, we cannot allow you back on the flightline to find it. Please leave it in your car or at home.
- Please SIGN OUT as you leave the flightline.
- Guests should not exit from the Air Terminal (we keep this staffed to ensure no one leaves this way).
- Bathrooms ONLY in the Air Terminal.
- Please do not walk around or under aircraft.
- Water will NOT be on the route. Please hydrate BEFORE and AFTER and discard all waste in the bins provided at the registration tent.
- If you have a medical emergency please notify a staff member and they will call for a vehicle. Minor cuts and scrapes can be cared for on the course with MWR staff.
- Please watch for tripping hazards. Pad Eyes, uneven pavement, etc.”
