The Boca Chica Fitness Center is open to active duty, NAS Key West Fire Department civilians & NAS Key West Security civilians. Reopening to all authorized patrons on 1 November.
For your safety and the safety of the staff, please follow the guidance below:
- Masks are required for all individuals unless actively engaged in physical activity
- Water fountain closed, except for bottle filling
- Spotters, gym bags and equipment rentals allowed
- No towel program
- Saunas are open
Boca Chica Fitness Center, located on Boca Chica Field, is the main fitness center. It is a full service fitness facility with a full size basketball court, a full range of LifeFitness selectorized weight equipment, cable machines, dumbbells (100+ lbs.), multiple Olympic bench presses, squat rack, and a variety of LifeFitness cardio equipment, such as treadmills, ellipticals, upright and recumbent bikes, along with a Matrix stepmill. Outside the facility there is a running track along with strength training equipment: tires, pull-up bars, free weights, and bars. The Boca Chica Fitness Center offers free fitness assessments, equipment orientation, program design & fitness consultation with certified staff. Schedule your appointment at the service desk. The locker rooms have lockers that can be reserved, with showers and a sauna. Select Group Exercise classes are held in the gymnasium - See Group Exercise Schedule for class times and locations.
Fitness Challenge Board
How much do you bench? Squat? Deadlift? How many pullups can you do in a row? Get on the Legacy Board at the Boca Chica Fitness Center by maxing out in any of the 4 lifts! For men, you'll also make our 1,000 pound club if your total for the bench, squat, deadlift is over 1,000 pounds if you're a guy. For women, if your total is over 500 pounds, you'll make the 500 pound club! Speak to a rec assistant to schedule an appointment.
What to expect: After a brief review of safety and the rules, you'll be given 15 minutes to find your 1 rep max per lift. If you're going for the 1,000 or 500 pound club, you'll have a total of 45 minutes to max out in all 3 lifts. You are allowed 3 attempts to get your 1 rep max, so you'll want to make sure you are already warmed up and ready to go.

- 1 year Run Challenge - 240 Miles: Miami Dade County Line to Mile Zero & Back
- 1 year Bike Challenge - 1000 miles: NAS Key West to NAS Pensacola
- 1 year Swim Challenge - 112,654 Meters: Key West to Dry Tortugas
- The GOAT Board: Achieve the distance goal for all 3 cardio challenges!
